A Letter from our new CEO, Cristina Jones

I've long been inspired by Black Girls Code's daring ambition to place one million girls in tech by 2040. An entire demographic is missing in the rooms where tech innovations happen. We've all seen it and talked about it, but now's the time to make change.

Here's what I know: girls and women of color have so much to say about how tech can revolutionize the infrastructure of industry, economies, and culture.

What does it take to get us there? How ambitious must our vision be?

As I step into this role, we'll expand the curriculum to address workforce development by including AI, leadership, and mental health. We're increasing the age limits to support this community well into job placement. We're establishing sponsorships and inclusive partnerships focused on equity, from recruitment to hiring to advancement. Finally, we're assembling our BGC alums and the larger community for networking and professional development.

Join us as we surge to pioneer the largest pathway to tech for these future leaders.

In gratitude,
Cristina

We listen and act. Help us shape the next chapter of Black Girls Code with us.

Invest in the future

Innovation is only possible when diverse minds, skills, and experiences come together to create new opportunities. When girls of color succeed, we all succeed.

What we do

Since 2011, Black Girls Code has engaged girls of color with computer programming education to nurture their careers in tech.

We partner with schools, local organizations, and dedicated volunteers to offer in-person and virtual learning opportunities for girls and women of color aged 7-25.

Our programs go beyond coding skills, equipping participants with the knowledge and confidence to realize their dreams.
