16 BGC Tech Prep Fellows Selected to Attend AFROTECH

This year, Black Girls Code (BGC) is thrilled to be sponsoring 16 incredible young women and gender-expansive individuals at the renowned AFROTECH Conference in Houston, Texas! These Tech Prep Fellows, thanks to the generous donation from NextEra Energy, will have the opportunity to network with industry leaders, attend workshops and panels, and take their tech careers to the next level.

Building the Future, One Line of Code at a Time

AFROTECH is a major event for anyone passionate about technology and innovation. For these 16 Fellows, it's a chance to:

  • Connect with top companies: Imagine meeting recruiters from leading tech firms, all eager to discover the next generation of talent. AFROTECH provides the perfect platform for these Fellows to showcase their skills and land dream internships or jobs.
  • Learn from the best: The conference boasts an impressive lineup of speakers and workshops. Fellows will gain invaluable insights into the latest tech trends, career advice, and strategies for navigating the tech landscape.
  • Join a supportive community: BGC doesn't just send its Fellows to AFROTECH and leave them to navigate on their own. The program includes pre-conference preparation on interview skills and career fair strategies, as well as dedicated events during the conference, like a BGC breakfast. This fosters a sense of community and ensures the Fellows get the most out of the experience.
