Black Girls Code and GoldieBlox invite all youth ages 13-18 to code a song for a chance to meet superstar, Ciara, and win cool tech prizes.
All participants will start the Challenge with access to the five “Code A Song” tutorial videos created by Black Girls Code that will teach you how to make music using the Python programming language. You’ll also have a “cheat sheet” to guide you step-by-step through the process.
The top 10 finalists’ songs will be sent to our celebrity judges, who will choose the winners of this year’s prizes based on: effort and originality, code complexity, and code clarity.

He invented the ElectroSpit talkbox used by David Guetta and Stevie Wonder, produced over forty songs for E40, and helps musicians create their own businesses that don’t depend on gigs and streaming at the nonprofit Black music incubator called "HiiiWAV" he founded in Oakland, California.
James is an award-winning business executive, and community advocate with over 20 years of experience, including five global companies (BET, Red Bull North America, The Coca-Cola Company, Kellogg's, and General Mills), two non-profit organizations (KIPP Philadelphia Charter Schools and The Center for Youth Services), and currently the President of LL COOL J's Rock The Bells. In 2022 & 2023, he was named a "Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Player".
