Code Clubs are after-school or out-of-school programs designed to empower Black girls and gender-nonconforming youth in grades K-12 to explore coding and develop leadership skills. Using a culturally relevant curriculum, participants learn Scratch, JavaScript, or Python while building sisterhood, gaining mentorship, and earning badges and certifications. Hosts need no prior experience, making it easy for schools, community organizations, and corporate partners to create safe, supportive spaces for young innovators to thrive.

What Girls are saying

“Thanks to your support, in the two weeks I was here I learned three coding languages, made my own website, a self-portrait, talked to an astronaut in the ISS, and had so much fun. Without your support, I would not be here learning these amazing coding languages or making friends. I cannot thank you enough for one of the best experiences of my life.”

Pappy L.
"Black Girls Code has made a big difference in my childhood. It has helped me explore my passion for computer science and tech in general. Thanks to Black Girls Code, I've made friends and great memories. Black Girls Code has shown me the importance of Black women in tech. Thank you for giving to something that is important to me and many others."

Meron
“I’m surrounded by people who look like me. I’m surrounded by smart, young students who are so eager to do amazing things in the world, and then we have professionals who are leading by example who are telling us that you too are capable of doing so many great things.”
